The Crystal Desert is the first area you’ll visit in the Path of Fire expansion. It’s also the area where you get your first mount! In this article you’ll get a step by step guide on how to reach the Crystal Desert and the requirements to get there!
Requirements
There are just two requirements to get to the Crystal Desert:
- You must own the Path of Fire expansion
- You have a level 80 character
Important note: You can get to the Crystal Desert without a level 80 character. However, you need a friend or a guild member that can carry you through the first story instance.
Sparking the Flame
In order to get to the Crystal Desert, you must complete the Sparking the Flame story instance. When you have the Path of Fire expansion and have a level 80 character, you can select this story instance in your story tab.

Navigating the Crystal Desert with your mount
After you’ve completed the Sparking the Flame instance you’ll spawn in the Free City of Amnoon in the Crystal Oasis. This is the main hub of the Crystal Desert. You are now able to roam the desert with your mount.
