Getting and using a glider in Guild Wars 2 is easy. But you need to know how to get it. The only thing you need is a specific Guild Wars 2 Expansion and a single button!
How to get a Glider
The first thing you’ll need to start gliding is either the Heart of Thorns or End of Dragons Expansion. Gliding is not included in the Path of Fire expansion. The Path of Fire expansion does however include mounts.
How to unlock Gliding in Heart of Thorns
In order to unlock gliding you’ll need to unlock the Glider Basics Mastery. This requires one Mastery Point. This is easily unlocked by going through the Heart of Thorns story or you can find Mastery Points on Heart of Thorns maps. Once, you have your mastery point, navigate to your Mastery tab in your Hero panel.
Players that have the Heart of Thorns expansion can upgrade their glider by obtaining more mastery points.
How to unlock Gliding in End of Dragons
In order to unlock Gliding in End of Dragons, you’ll need to complete the Old Friends story instance. This is one of the first story chapters of the End of Dragons expansion. Players with the just the End of Dragons expansion can only obtain the basic glider. If they want to upgrade their glider they need to unlock the Heart of Thorns expansion.
How to use your Glider
Gliding is easy, just follow these steps!
- Have the Glider Basics unlocked or completed the Old Friends story instance.
- Stand near a ledge or something you can jump off.
- Press the spacebar to jump off the ledge and press it again to open your glider.
- The yellow bar on your screen indicates how long you can still glide
