The march 29 2022 patch notes added important changes to the game after the release of the End of Dragons expansion. The Catalyst Elite Specialization had some huge changes, the Super Adventure Box returns and the infamous “Longcat” was born…
What is the Longcat bug?
As you can see, the Longcat is an animation bug that occurs when a player adds specific cosmetics to a Charr character. This stretches the Charr’s character model and results in some great screenshots and videos. Take a look!
The bug occurs when you try to use the Reality Rig Mk2 armor on a female charr. You don’t even have to own this piece of armor. Previewing it makes the bug happen as well!
Many players are even advocating to make the Longcat a permanent feature or a tonic that can be used at any time! I did not have to put in much effort to find a Longcat. Just enter any of the capital cities and you can find a group of Longcats having fun.
If you can’t be bothered to look for yourself, just go to the Guild Wars 2 Reddit. There are plenty of Longcat posts there!
PLEASE @ArenaNet PLEASE DO NOTEVER FIX THIS.. THIS NEEDS TO FOREVER BE A FEATURE…#GuildWars2 @GuildWars2 #LONGCATLEGION! pic.twitter.com/yhOqHcrtv3

My favorite screenshot of a Longcat Charr is during the Living World Season 4 ending scene. In this last emotional scene, a player can be seen using the Longcat bug. Oh Reddit, never stop being you…
The Devs and the official Guild Wars 2 Twitter
Even the official Guild Wars 2 Twitter account jumped in to react to the Longcat situation.
Too late, we’re very afraid.

Even the devs love it! PaulS commented on one of the posts stating that this is his new favorite bug.
Will the Longcat Charr be fixed?
Most certainly. ArenaNet tweeted that they are working on a fix. However, before it happens players will have their fun with it. April Fools’ Day is around the corner so it will most likely last until then. Maybe ArenaNet can create a permanent tonic for it. We’ll see, it would be a nice April Fools’ feature *wink wink*.
Update:
The longcat is no more. It has been updated and fixed on 31-3-2022
Unfortunately, this update has corrected the longcat bug. pic.twitter.com/N3NFOtbzlO
